Just when Willie Ray Starling of recent fame from Lenoir County thought he was done, it looks like there's going to be a do-over mandated my the SBOE. Willie Ray Starling was thought to be the winner in the Republican Primary election for the 10th House District seat. Starling defeated the incumbent, Rep. Stephen LaRoque, who lost by 11 votes. This race attracted a lot of attention as LaRoque was increasing considered to be a RINO (Republican in Name Only).

LaRoque is claiming that he lost to Starling because of the handling of unaffiliated voters. LaRoque protest was upheld by the Lenoir County Board of Elections who voted 2-1 to send this matter to the State Board of Elections.
